How to Screenshot a Whole Web Page on Android
Capture an entire web page, not just the visible part, on Android using scrolling screenshots, Chrome tools, and a quick way to act on what you save.
When one screen is not enough
Web pages rarely fit on a single screen. An article, a recipe, an order summary, or a long thread runs well past the visible area, and a normal screenshot only captures the top. To save the whole thing in one image, you need a full-page or scrolling capture. Android offers a few ways to do it, depending on your phone and browser.
Use the scrolling screenshot tool
Most modern Android phones include a scrolling capture built into the screenshot preview.
- Take a normal screenshot
- Tap "Capture more," "Scroll," or "Scroll capture" on the preview toolbar
- Drag the selection down to include the full page
- Save the long image
This is the quickest method and works in any app, not just the browser. For a full walkthrough across devices, see the guide to taking a scrolling screenshot on Android.
Use Chrome's built-in options
Chrome on Android can help with full pages in a couple of ways.
- Use the Share menu and look for "Long screenshot" where available
- Or choose "Print" and save the page as a PDF to keep the entire layout
Saving as a PDF is useful when a page is extremely long or you want to keep the text selectable. The guide to converting a screenshot to PDF on Android covers handling PDFs afterward.
Keep the result readable
Very long captures can become hard to read when shrunk to fit your screen. To keep them useful:
- Capture only the section you actually need, not the entire page, when possible
- Crop away navigation bars and ads after capture
- Save a PDF instead when the page is mostly text
Editing the capture afterward helps. See how to edit a screenshot on Android to crop and clean it up.
Make the saved page do something
A full-page screenshot of a booking, recipe, or article is only useful if you return to it. Attach a reminder so it comes back when you need it.
- Capture the full page
- Add the screenshot to RemindShot and let OCR read the visible text
- Give it an action title and choose the time
- Open the saved page when the notification arrives
Because OCR reads the text inside the image, you can also search for it later by a word on the page. See how to search screenshots on Android with OCR, or the broader routine for setting reminders for screenshots.
Frequently asked questions
How do I capture an entire web page on Android?
Take a normal screenshot, then tap "Capture more" or "Scroll capture" on the preview and drag to include the full page. In Chrome you can also use "Long screenshot" from the Share menu or save the page as a PDF.
Why is my scrolling screenshot option missing?
Not every phone or app supports scrolling capture. If the button does not appear, try the browser's own long-screenshot option or save the page as a PDF through Print.
Should I save a long page as an image or a PDF?
Use an image for a quick visual capture, and a PDF for very long, text-heavy pages where you want selectable text and a tidy layout.
Can I search a full-page screenshot later?
Yes. With OCR, the text inside the capture becomes searchable, so you can find the page by a word it contains instead of scrolling your gallery.
